Re: Yoga 2 13 laptop - Windows 10 issues

Did you try reinstalling the Transitions app? If you did and it still doesn't work, did you try setting it to compatibility mode for Windows 8? Also, some people here found that removing that app completely works, so have you tried that? Sorry for so many questions, I'm eager to upgrade! :)

I noticed that after installing and uninstalling Lenovo Transition (can be downloaded from yoga 2 11 driver page http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-2-11-notebook-lenovo?c=1) or Harmony there is still one process left, called ymc, which makes the transition happen. Anyone else notice the same?

@AZA510, do you mean the one where one gets a black screen but the computer basically stays on? I tried reinstalling the energy manager. With power plugged in, disable Conservation mode (if it's enabled), uninstall the energy manager, restart, and reinstall the energy manager from Lenovo support page below and restart again

http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-2-13-notebook-lenovo/downloads/DS040000

I'm not sure if this fixed the issue, but haven't had the problem for a couple of days. So might be worth a try ;)

Re: Yoga 2 13 laptop - Windows 10 issues

I noticed that there is no windows 10 driver for the "energy management" so I uninstalled it and restarted.. I did a test by closing the lid for a few minutes (after restarting) and found it seemed to have worked.

I will continue without re installing the driver and hopefully there will be no issues. Win 10 has its own energy management so I figure I may not need this program as it could have be conflicting with win10 controls.

thanks for your help

I would like to know how many people with Yoga 2 13 laptops running Windows 10 are experiencing a problem with sleep mode.

If you are experiencing a problem, could you please share more details?

Thank you,

Hi Amy

I have had a similar issue as described with the black screen - the battery has been draining from 100% to 0% overnight despite having a full shut down. I have realised today that despite choosing shut down and the screen going blank, the power light is still on, and will stay like this until the battery is empty.

I disabled the Energy Manager in Task Manager > Start Up and this looks like it has resolved the problem. Sleep Mode seems to be ok as well.

I have also been having a problem with very slow start ups, it has taken several minutes to boot from shut down. Disabling the Energy Manager looks like it has also resolved this problem.

Thanks

ok so I just opened my laptop after an over night stint and the battery is completely flat. very odd. This did not happen windows 8.1 usually sleep mode would take up virtually no battery.

Edit

My yoga 2 is not freezing anymore however it is still doing all the things listed the the post below \/ \/ \/

Hi @Amy_Lenovo, I have been having this problem since the preview versions of Windows 10. I have reinstalled a fresh full version of Windows 10 after the release and the problem persists. The problem occurs randomly when computer is going to sleep mode or shutting down, both when plugged into charger and on battery mode. When it does occur the ventilator remains on, power light remains on, Windows touch button below the screen gives vibration feedback but the screen is black, no sound, keyboard caps lock light doesn't light up when pressed.

Noone has been able to pinpoint the source of the problem yet, I have tried removal of Lenovo energy manager, but it does not work: I have just discovered that instead of shutting down my Yoga 2 13 was again stuck in this weird condition :catfrustrated: Please do something about it :catsad:
