Windows 11 Smart Charging

Hello,

As many of you know, Windows 11 has the ability to extend a device's battery life with their new feature smart charging. I'm currently testing with the latest T14 and cannot seem to trigger the feature on my device.

As per Microsoft, every device manufacturer implements Smart Charging in a different way. When communicating with our account reps they mentioned that the latest Lenovo Intel devices should support Smart Charging.

Has anyone successfully triggered the feature on Windows 11? It activates automatically with a Surface device for example.

Thanks in advance,

-Zak

Re:Windows 11 Smart Charging

Some device manufacturers turn on Smart charging in Windows 11. Every device manufacturer implements Smart charging in a slightly different way that’s optimized for their specific device. Lenovo have Vantage to do it aside from the internal battery firmware and chip that limits battery when it goes 100%. You would also notice that automatically the machine may require to discharge up to 98% before it would proceed charging again.

Windows 11 Smart Charging

Re:Windows 11 Smart Charging

Hi zak856!

Welcome to the Community!

Two ways to go here, disable OS feature and use the manufacturer settings instead (Conservation Mode / Battery Threshold using Lenovo Vantage), or use Windows feature as offered. You may decide what works best in your usage.

Re:Windows 11 Smart Charging

Hi Hector,

I appreciate the response. The issue is that the Windows Feature does not seem to turn on at all. My guess is it's waiting for some information from the Lenovo System to activate.
