We currently have over 300 IBM/Lenovo desktops and laptops, most of which have Windows XP on them using the Volume Licence Key version of XP. We use Microsoft SysPrep and Norton/Symantec Ghost to create images for the different models that we have making installation of all our software very quick indeed!
So far when we have purchased new Lenovo desktops and laptops we used the Windows 7 Downgrade Rights which allows us to install our Windows XP images on these machines.
The reason we have continued to use XP is because of the legacy software that we have. Now we have pretty much either upgraded or replaced/decommissioned all the legacy software and now it has all be tested on Windows 7 and found to be working OK.
We're about to purchase a few Lenovo desktop computers that come with the OEM Version of Windows 7 Professional already installed on them - is it possible to install all our software on one machine and then image it on to the others and use the OEM Product key that comes on each machine?
