I have a problem with my new T500. When I read/write something from/to the hdd, the lamp which indicates writing/reading to the hdd is always on and the system is frozen.
In the event viewer I have thousends of the following errors:
Der Treiber hat einen Controllerfehler auf \Device\Ide\IdePort0 gefunden.
( that means: The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort0)
The source is atapi.
Where is the problem? This is a new notebook!
I have a 2055-WL6 with Windows 7 64bit.
If you were using the Lenovo preload, I would say update the IMSM driver as I have seen this
issue in the past, but since you state the machine has Win 7, the driver installed is provided by
The machine is not at fault.
Lenovo Win 7 beta test team
I checked the hdd with the bios program and the result is: read verification failed.
So this is a hardware error.
I will get a new hdd and hope that it works fine afterwards.
