Availability of Windows 7 Beta Device Drivers for some Lenovo Thinkpads

Good Day

Lenovo will be posting 10 Windows 7 Beta device drivers* to it's public

Windows 7 beta webpage before the end of May. The drivers posted will be:

1)  Lenovo System Interface Driver

2)  ThinkVantage Active Protection System

3)  UltraNav Driver with support for single and multi touchpad systems

4)  UltraNav Utility

5)  ThinkVantage Power Manager

6)  ThinkVantage Power Management Driver

7)  FingerPrint Driver

8)  Hotkey Features

9)  ThinkVantage Access Connections ver 5.40

10) WWAN

The drivers will be available at   www.lenovo.com/windows7beta

These drivers are STRICTLY beta and have NO public support.  Please do not

call the Lenovo HelpCenter seeking support as they will not assist you.

Feedback on driver issues via this thread is encouraged and those concerns will

be send back to the individual device driver development teams.

There will be 32 bit and 64 bit versions of some device drivers are available.

*Drivers are supported on RC Build 7100 and later. The drivers may work on earlier builds

Nice any idea of a rough date so I don't have to check every day ?! :-p

Running 7 RC now and a few quirks here and there could be solved nicely with new software !! :-D

He said before the end of the month - so set your expectations to May 30, and perhaps you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Re: Availability of Windows 7 Beta Device Drivers for some Lenovo Thinkpads

Some more tidbits.

Install the SMIF driver first,  saves some grief later on

Access Connections works quite well. I'm not sure if I like the amber-ish color of the wireles signal systray applet

Power Manager battery icon in systray has neat color

Suspend / Resume works better and wireless works on resume

I don't use the FPR so no comment.

My current machine is X61 with 80 gig Intel SSD with 4 gig of RAM.

Next machine is  TXXXX  (unannounced model) with 160 gig SSD and 8 gig of RAM, Blu-Ray
