BSOD 0x00000f4 G770

2015-01-16, 9:27 AM

Hello new to the community so hope im posting in the right place, anyways heres my problem. I have a G770 laptop about 3 years old that was turned off durring a windows update. Now when I try to start the computer all I can get is the BIOS options and the F8 options which dont work (safe mode...Ect...) When windows does try to start I get the "STOP  0x00000f4 Error and then loops with that. I ended up installing Ubuntu on a flash drive that in return im able to look at all my files from windows. I think the problem may be with the drivers? is there a way to update or edit them while using Ubuntu?

Welcome to the Lenovo Community !

That 00f4 error can also be related to an abrupt shut down which you did experienced.  Since the Windows operating system maybe corrupt from shutting it down during an update, have you consider doing a One Key Recovery ?

Another option is use a Windows 7 installation disc and try doing a repair.
