R500 Windows 7 Screen problem

Hi Smiley Happy

Model: Thinkpad R500
OS: Windows 7
Lasted driver from lenovo.com, can't install the one from intel.com

See the two screenshots:
http://img7.yfrog.com/i/screen1av.png/
http://img94.yfrog.com/i/screen2mn.png/

The problem is not only in programs, sometimes it does it allover, with nothing open.

I got the motherboard changed twice by Lenovo, but that didn't help.
After first time, the problem was gone, but returned in a month.
They say I should use Windows XP, because the computer was shipped with it.

Right now the computer is running XP, and the problem has not been their yet.

I suspect some kind of driver problem. On another R500 (not the same type no.) I have with Win7, no problem!

If I switch harddrive to Win7 the problem is showing short after boot.

Any suggestions ?

/Kim

Re: R500 Windows 7 Screen problem

Looks like the same problem as my T500. See Mark's workaround in this thread.

Re: R500 Windows 7 Screen problem

Thanks!

I will try this in a few days and see if this is fixed.

I think it's a little weird that VT-d could have something to do with this :-)

Re: R500 Windows 7 Screen problem

The problem seems to be fixed, so case closed :-)
