I recently installed Windows 7 x64, everything went great, except that when I log out / lock / standby the computer, and I try to log back in using the fingerprint reader, I get the following error message: "This computer is locked. Only the logged on user can unlock it".
But I am the logged on (assuming there is one, after a log out...), admin and only user.
So to log on, I just enter the system password and everything works, but back in Vista, this worked without a problem.
When I boot up or restart the computer, I get no issues, the fingerprint reader works great (in the bios and the Windows login part).
Got most drivers through Thinkvantage System Update but had to get the fingerprint drivers from the Lenovo website, released on 10/22 version 3.3.0.56 (initial and official release for Win7)
Any solution to this?
Thanks!

So out of all the people who saw this post, nobody could replicate this with their own version of Win7 and fingerprint reader?
That sounds surprising, but regardless I was hoping to get something from Lenovo on this one, since it's most likely a bug in their initial release of fingerprint scanner drivers for Win7...

Same problem here, T500 with Win7 x64. But I didn't wanted to register for a "me 2"-post. :-)

Well, hopefully we can show Lenovo it's a widespread issue and they'll take it upon themselves of fixing it soon or giving us a walkaround...

Hello,
I have the same problem on my T400. Any solution available?

I had this problem on my x200t, and the first thing I did was deleted all of my existing fingerprint data, re-enrolled and it worked fine.

Yes. You are correct. The previous Fingerprint data (XP's or Vista's) still exists in the Sensor even after that you format the HDD and instatll a new OS Win7. So you'd better erase fingerprint sensor once from BIOS>Security> Fingerprint>Reset Internal Fingerprint Data before you install one new OS.
I'm a fan of ThinkPad's and a volunteer of Lenovo. FYI.

Ya, you're right about the clearing of fingerprints. I did it through the Thinkvantage utility, but it worked fine!
Thanks a lot for the help, and good to hear it's not a bug.

I've had the same issue with Win 7 x86 as well. I've not had time to clear out the fingerprint profiles yet, but I did find a work around. The fingerprint scanner should start working correctly if, when you go to unlock the machine, you click the "other credentials" button and then the "switch user" button. Just an FYI for anyone looking to unlock their machine without having to reboot it.
