Re: Lenovo Announces Windows 7 upgrade program

2009-10-20, 11:52 AM

I just bought a Thinkpad T400 with the original Windows Vista 32 bit installed.

Can I get a Win 7 64bit upgrade through this update program? I'm still waiting for my laptop to arrive, it should arrive sometime in this week.

The only downside is that the shipping cost for Win 7 is ridiculous. How big is this package? I'm in Iceland and I have to pay 29 Euros, that's around $44 US dollars! It can't be that big of a package, one DVD...right?

I think I'll rather try to get Win 7 for free at my university, I think I can get a student version of it.

Hi, how did you know your proof of purchase is validated? I sent to them about 2 month ago, but no reply from them.

I got an email from Lenovo

"We are pleased to inform that your Proof of Purchase has been successfully validated and your order(s) will now be processed"

Kuldeep

when did you get the email? I mean how long time after you submit the proof .

I didn't get any thing. How to contact with them?

What is the status if you check your order in the upgrade website?  Mine is "Pending for Payment".  Does it mean my proof has been validated successfully?

I got the email,  6 weeks after POP was submitted.  On Lenovo Windows 7 upgrade page,  there is "Contact us" button. You can use that.

Has anyone got a confirmation e-mail saying that their upgrade has shipped yet?  I know it is technically still the first day of release and all but I am just wondering.  Also, my order status has been at "Pending for Payment"  and my payment status has been at "Pending deduction" for quite some time now and I entered all my payment information when I first signed up.  Is that pretty much what everyone who is waiting status is?

It could be WEEKS before Lenovo starts shipping the update.

I sure hope they get it right as my laptop is working too good on Vista 64

Re: Lenovo Announces Windows 7 upgrade program

I've had the exact same problem. I signed up on October 5th and never received an email acknowledging my order, no notification that my proof of purchase was received.....nothing. Calls to customer service have been absolutely pointless, as have emails. They basically have no way to check the status of an order, and when I press further all I'm told is, "Sir, please be patient. After the 22nd you'll be contacted by the appropriate department."

Anyone have any tips? I'm incredibly frustrated with this entire situation.
