Don't know if this thread is dead but there is Desktop Power Manager for Windows 8 on Lenovo's site:

I installed it and it works !

You saying you actually made this work in a ThinkPad? Being able to set battery threshold?

I am using Thinkpad T440p and I realize that Windows 8 has this:

I guess we can try installing this to manage the battery.

I tried to run the installation of the power manager 6.0something and it couldn't seem to load after the installation.

That Win8 App is almost useless. Specially for battery management. Only good feat it has is location awareness and has issues. Sorry.

Hi pjg, this power manager is supposedly not 'compatible' or designed for Thinkpads. It's only meant for Thinkcentres.

I tried this power manager and the Windows 8 version in the app mode, but both couldn't set the charge control to 80%.

any thoughts?

I just installed a small app called Batterybar. It's not Lenovo, but it's an acceptable stopgap measure.

I am sorry to say that Lenovo's (Helix) power management is a joke. I am going back to Dell!

And that'd help how exactly? The only feat that's missing is the battery threshold. And the only manufacturer that supports it is Lenovo. LOL

Really? Are you aware what Helix does when it wakes up from sleep or hybernate? Give us a break!

A brand new Thinkpad Helix with this type of power management problems is simply offensive.

I have just ordered my new DELL and have asked a full refund from Lenovo.
