Rescue&Recovery: second copy backup to USB removed the first backup

2009-10-28, 21:35 PM

Hi,

Before the XP downgrade from Vista Business, I used the Rescue & Recovery to create a backup, and to copy this backup to a USB drive. After having the XP downgrade, I used the Rescue & Recovery again to create another backup. I wanted to create another copy again, using the same USB drive. However, I observed that when the new copy was created the Vista backup has been removed.

Can I still have it back?

Is it possible to store both backups on the same USB?

Hi lenovouser1,

To get back Vista backup, data recovery software appears like an only option to me.

On an aside note, in my standpoint, RnR backup system makes life harder instead of making it easier, it's painfully slow, often crashes, can't put two and two together on its own. In my book it's a disaster. It's better to get 3rd party recovery software like Acronis, Symantec recovery or Norton Ghost etc. than to deal with RnR backup system.
