Have you tried the XP or Vista drivers?

Windows 7 uses same drivers as Vista does.

Vista=Windows 7

I have a T42 and also installed Windows 7.  I could not get any drivers to install for the wireless card (Intel Pro/Wireless 2200 BG).  I tried the XP and the Vista drivers and neither worked.  Then I went back to the Leveno download area and put in that I had a T42 with Vista operating system and downloaded and installed "System Update".  I then ran system update on my computer and it detected that I needed to update my wireless driver and I let it do it and behold now I have a working wireless driver on Windows 7.  Hope this helps you.

I just installed the system update (on a T43) and it did show the update for the wireless driver.  However, when I try to install it, it doesn't seem to work and it still shows up under the system update options.  I have tried it a few times, but it doesn't seem to install correctly.  Anyone else experiencing this?

Hi there

yep, have the exact same problem as bennyv. I have installed Windows 7 Beta on a T43 but I cannot get the wireless driver working. I have tried manual installation and the System Update tool but none of it made it work. :(

Have you guys tried getting the proper driver for your card straight from Intel?

No I hadnt.

Excellent suggestion Tim, I picked up the "Intel Pro/Wireless 2200 BG" package from intel site and installed it + updated the driver from device manager... Bingo, wireless adaptor works.:smileyvery-happy:

Thanks a lot Tim

I have a T43 and I had tried the System Updater.  The driver is listed as an available update, I select it, the driver is installed, but after a reboot the driver is still listed in the Updates list and the network card still doesn't work.

I tried downloading directly from Intel, but I had the same response.

From Ubuntu, the driver is listed as : Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200/2915 Network Driver.

I'll recheck my drivers later to make sure I downloaded the correct file from Intel.

Re: ThinkPad T43 wireless on Windows 7

I finally got Win7 to recognize my Intel Pro 2200 wireless card.

Lenovo System update recognized the card, and installed drivers, but this didn't help. After a reboot, the adapter was still listed as an Unknown Network Adapter in the device manager.

I downloaded the 2200 drivers from Intel. The installer would run, but the adapter was still listed as an Unknown Network Adapter in the device manager.

I even tried to point directly to the driver I thought it would use {PATH}\Vista\32bit\Drivers\.  But Win7 said these drivers did not match the Unknown Network Adapter.

What worked was pointing to the root {PATH} where I extracted the drivers to and checked "Check subfolders" and Win7 found a compatible driver somewhere in this folder.

After this, Lenovo System Update was able to update the adapter to the newer driver (v9.1 from the v9.0 that Intel installed).
