Re: U330 + Windows 7 Drivers Problem & Solutions

2010-06-20, 3:19 AM

hey guys,

I finally got some time to install this bios....and yes i can confirm that after coming back from sleep there seems to be only one graphics card running, using device manager and checking rightmarkclock.

upon a fresh reboot, my laptop discharges at around 10K-11K mW idle...after coming from sleep, it goes up to about 13-14K while idle. from a few months ago, my battery capacity has decreased from 56160mWH to 48020mWh. on a full charge now, i get around 3.5hrs on the intel card. in the VERY beginning when i first got this new battery, i actually did reach 5 hrs...maybe for like 1 day before my battery lost capacity. I guess this is as good as it gets boys. I'm waiting for mark to email me the new power manager but I might might use it. I'm not really using it now in fact. cuts my boot time. (45 seconds flat, beat that guys ;) )

in summary, the bios is safe to install, no problems so far after 2 days of use. anyone confused about how to install i can lead u in the right direction.

bootable memory key is just a USB flash drive that has been formated so that it can boot to dos. just google it and it should be pretty easy to find. look for the HP utility that formats it for u.

1.  My BIOS.BAT wants to run 0FCN68W.exe, but I don't see that file in the .rar archive.

2.  If I deconstruct the .BAT file and try running the FLA**bleep** commands, I get no errors but it doesn't look like any flashing is going on, and the BIOS version never changes in the system information.

hey

the easiest way to create a bootable usb drive is by downloading this tool

http://sourceforge.net/projects/unetbootin/files/UNetbootin/471/unetbootin-windows-471.exe/download

Hey, a couple questions guys: (1) Is the ATI beta driver good? what are improvements? (2) Has anyone uninstalled power manager? If so what is your consumption without it? I have it installed, but it seems to cause issues in windows 7. Just does not operate smoothly. I have 9,000mW to 11,000mW consumption at idle. It jumps up coming back from suspend. I have not updated bios yet.
