Re: Win 7 upgrade program - delivery updates

2009-11-07, 18:49 PM

I ordered my upgrade on 5th september and my status is still "pending for fullfilment". Some canadian in this thread ordered his on 3rd september and his upgrade has gone to shipping already so I'm wondering if they're really doing it in the order they received the upgrade requests or will people in the Europe have to wait longer which in my eyes would be incredibly stupid. Also it's incredibly stupid that they're sending all the upgrades from one location... why they just couldn't have own all the continents, this way I might need to wait still weeks for my upgrade depending on the overseas delivery method.

This whole upgrade thing doesn't really give professional image from Lenovo or Mentor Media.

Holy cow - after reading the latest updates on this thread I walked down to my mailbox and...there it was!  The bubble-padded package from Mentor Media (Ontario, CA) contained two CDs, a copy of my invoice, and a small instruction packet.  Wish me luck!

To Geologist

Best of luck!  Can you describe what you got such as being an oem version or just an upgrade version.

Only Think customers are getting their updates now.  Upgrades for Idea customers don't start shipping until 11/18.

My previous post was inappropriately removed, but all it was instructions for using the built-in tool slmgr.vbs for activating Windows.  You can legally use Windows 7 without activating it for up to 30 days, renewable up to 3 times. Check Microsoft Technet for more information on slmgr.vbs.

It was removed but not inappropriately since discussions about bypassing security measures, whether it's hacking into someone's account or activating licenses, are clearly prohibited by the forum rules.
