Windows 7 64-bit and Outlook Attachments

2010-01-12, 1:47 AM

I just upgraded my home PC  from Vista 64-bit to Windows 7 64-bit.  No other software changes.  Now attachments in my Outlook 2007 do not work.  I can't attach anything or save incoming attachments.  The error message says "The server is not available.  Contact your administrator is this problem persists."

My ISP is Comcast and I have a D-link router.  I did not have this problem before the Windows 7 upgrade.

Two things to try:

  1. Delete and recreate the email account you are having problems with
  2. If 1 doesn't work, then try uninstalling and resinstalling Outlook

FYI: I have Outlook 2010 Beta (32bit) running on Windows 7 64bit, and it works perfectly.

Good luck,
