Re: Windows 7 Upgrade fulfillment discussion

Hello

When did you place your order?

I really need to have some sort of idea when they are going to ship ... I know it's free and all but I was forced to buy a new computer before win 7 was available in Oct but bought the lenovo because of price and it feels durable but what a night mare with Vista it's insane.

Its friggin great that Lenovo charges $17 for a FREE upgrade.  We are told that the $17 is for shipping, but then they chose the absolute slowest shipping method

It first goes to UPS CA, then to UPS TX, then to USPS in my city which is halfway in between.  There it sits on a palatte for a few days, THEN it gets delivered.

It takes over a week for the shipping method we are having to to endure.  If they had just shipped via USPS, it would have taken two days.  We pay $17 for shipping, then they chose the cheapest and slowest method.

Lenovo has no integrity.  They have lost my trust and my future business.

That's why they call it shipping and **handling** fee.

$17 for a shipping and handling fee for a 2 dvd package, that is supposed to be aFREE UPGRADE?  Like I said, they have no Integrity.

To put the customer through prolonged delays, then ship via the absolute slowest method is just poor customer service.

Who wants to deal with a business that has no integrity and poor customer service?  I've bought Thinkpads since 1997, but there are lots of other laptop makers.  I will choose someone else next time.

At least you got yours and even the almighty does NOT know when I will get mine :(

I desperately need to repartition my hard drive and put Windows 7 and get on with my life but apparently Lenovo gods don't agree with it.  So, I called Mentor Media y'day and asked about the status of the order.  As usual, she has no clue and apparently, they will get to it whenever they get to it.  I told her that the model number says N. A. for my order online and she took the correct model number and vouched that she updated it.  I still see N. A. in my order.  I just don't know how to get this whole Windows 7 upgrade issue resolved.

Running out of ideas!

Communications

Resources are prioritized to address inquiries sent through the "contact us" button on the www.lenovo.com/windows7 update site (page 3 / 4 ) of the process.   The Mentor Media team is presently running about 5 days behind in responding to inquires through contact us (last week the backlog was more than a week) so progress is being made but still delayed.   Submissions other than through the contact us may have even longer response times.

You should probably amend this:

Dear customer,

Due to unprecedented demand, we are behind schedule in processing your question regarding order status for the Windows 7 Upgrade program. Although we are acting aggressively to answer all enquiries, it is currently taking approximately 10 days to provide individual email responses.  Please be informed that payment processing may take up to 1-2 weeks due to the huge demand, as we are processing them based on order received date as well as stock availability. You will get a payment confirmation reply once we have processed your payment successfully.  We seek your kind understanding and thank you for your continued patience.

This is simply a joke.  I purchased an ideapad Y650 in July, my Proof of Purchase was validated October 17th, I submitted it September 1st, and my status is still "Pending Deduction."

No I didn't get get mine yet.  It is still sitting on a palatte that UPS shipped to USPS on Saturday.  I am still getting bent over the railing like you are.

When I spoke with USPS last night, they said it could take them a couple days to unpack the palatte.  Then it would be put in the pile for delivery.

Frankly I am sick and tired of this wait and there is no commitment on by which date i am going to get my update. How can a company like Lenovo do this and get away? it is Dec 9 today. They started shipping ideapad around 23rd and as per Mark's latest update only 20% have shipped.  I think they just don't care.
