Please tell me what can be done about the wrong version for a Y730. My sister received the wrong version for it on

Lenovo0100877. We tried to contact Mentor Media but their response was they wouldn't change order as it was too far along in the process. We also called Lenovo sales but it was so new they had no response. The problem was that when we ordered early on in the process there was no option for 32bit or 64bit. Also the fax# was all zeros at the time which I believe was caused by the website not being up and running fully.

 

The Y730 only comes as 64bit Home Premium so this version is useless.

 

Please help if possible!

From what ive seen this is the timeline....you order the upgrade, then 1-2 months later your payment is processed. then 2-4 weeks later your product is shipped. then 2-4 weeks later you get the upgrade.

pityful but true.

the only reason i'm not pissed beyond belief is I might wait until the first service pack and more program support for win7 is in place before i actually pull the trigger on my upgrade. It will also be helpful to see how other K230 installs go and be prepared for any problems.

Lol mark as soon as I read your post i got excited cause I was hoping I would get the DVD as well. And it was in my mailbox! Hahaha. But that's too bad about the drivers cd. But I've been running windows 7 for about a month now. And the drivers from the lenovo website all works well. The only problem I encountered was that I was missing the intel mangement driver. Which I downloaded the latest version from intel (I think it's vista version) and installed it using administration privilages and I don't have any more question marks on the device manager window. I'll let you know the details (exact) when I install it.

The verification code is on the status page. It's a combination of 4 letters/numbers. It's next to the verification code input box.
