Re: Windows 8.1 RTM Upgrade - Bluetooth driver issue

2013-10-27, 1:45 AM

Before pulling the plug on 8.1, I checked again what drivers I had installed since the upgrade.

I had omitted two (being too cautious):

Hotkey integration features 4.22.1000

Lenovo settings dependency package [having removed previous version before the upgrade]

After installing these two packages, bluetooth devices *seem* to be working happily together again, without hesitation or "stuck" keystrokes.

This has not affected the issue of the display driver crashing on resuming from sleep. (That's display sleep. From actual system sleep I think resume is not possible but fails.)

Re: Windows 8.1 RTM Upgrade - Bluetooth driver issue

Had similar issue when upgrading W500 from Windows Pro 64 to 8.1.

BlueTooth shows up as still available on Fn+F5, but no longer appears in the Tray.

Tried reloading the Win 7 BT Driver from Lenovo, but Win 8.1 said it was incompatible and refused to install it.

Found http://download.lenovo.com/lenovo/content/windows8-1/upgrade/ideapad/index_en.html which sent me to

Found this driver there "Intel Bluetooth Software for Windows 8.1 (64-bit) - ThinkPad L440, L540, T440, T540p"

Works perfectly on the W500, may work on other Thinkpads too.

Incidentally, had to change Switchable Graphics to Discrete Graphics in BIOS to get Win 8.1 upgrade to work.

(You also need to disable "OS Detection for Switchable Graphics")
