windows 8 installation

2013-11-06, 8:13 AM

Hello,

yesterday i wanted to reinstall windows 8 (install windows 7) to my pc. But unfortunately i didnt ready any articles how to reinstall it and i have already formatted my system drive(without making backup). After som reading I figured out that i have windows 8 key implemented in my BIOS. So it changed my mind and i would like to install fresh windows 8 system, but now i am getting error when trying to pick refresh windows 8 or reset windows 8 from menu, that there are some missing files (obivously because i have formatted my system drive). So my question is...what are my options to get back windows 8 into my PC? The only solution that came into my mind, is making backup disk from my brothers PC (he has similar lenovo serie), will this work please?

Thank you in advance for your advices...

Greets, Michael.

Hi miskoo.

That should work because as you say the activation key is not backed up, Create a recovery backup of your brothers OS on a USB drive that has a least 16gb of space

(The default backup path is D:, Change this to your USB drive) .

Shut down your laptop, Plug in the USB drive & press the onekey recovery button(Small button next to power on),

You will see a list of options, Select boot from USB.

Once the USB boots select your language, Then select the tools icon, You will see a option to install OS with partions select it & follow the on screen prompts, Windows 8 should install.

Back up win8 to USB once its up & running in case you need to re-install in future.

Hope that helps

And welcome to the forum.
