I'm using Norton Ghost 14.0 with Vista, and I'm trying to recover an image I made of the C drive. But in doing so, I get the error, "bootmgr is missing" when rebooting.
But when I recovered the ghost image, I boot and get "bootmgr is missing". I redid the ghost recovery and made sure I even selected the partiton as "primary boot", "restore disk signature" and "restore mbr", but even then, same problem.
Acronis True Image is the recommend program for ghosting thinkpads.
Norton has got problems with recovery partition and make the drive unusable.
I would now recommend a clean install of first the older OS and then Vista.\
