If your computer is having problems running the Aero desktop experience, which includes effects such as transparency, try using the Aero troubleshooter to fix the problem. It checks for common compatibility issues with running Aero, such as your computer's color, theme, and power settings and your computer's video card.
To make sure you have the most up-to-date troubleshooters from the Windows Online Troubleshooting Service, your computer should be connected to the Internet.
To open the Aero troubleshooter:
Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.
In the search box, type Troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting.
Under Appearance and Personalization, click Display Aero desktop effects. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
