Question

I was installing updates to my Windows 8.1 system and for some reasons, my WiFi suddenly couldn't work. I read that one way to deal with this is to revert to an earlier version of drivers, but I don't know how to do it.

Answer

To revert to an earlier version of drivers on your Windows 8.1 system, go to Control Panel:

(1) You can swipe from the right edge of your touch screen and hit "Settings" - refer to image below or tap on the Windows windows.jpg button to bring up your desktop. Right click on the bottom left corner and look for the Open Control Panel option. Click on it.

(2) Once you do so you will see the Control Panel. Click on Device Manager to bring up the menu listing your devices.

(3) Double click or tap on the device in question. For this KB, we are using WiFi as an example.

(4) Navigate to Driver tab and then click or tap on Roll Back Driver (in this case no earlier versions were installed.)

(5) Reboot and done.
