Question

Sometimes we may come across some questions about our machine type model, the BIOS version, type of operating system, etc.

The box that came with our machine should contain the basic info such as machine type, OS, etc. But what if we don't have the box anymore and have no other reference? What can we do?

Answer

  1. Switch your view to Desktop.

  2. Press Windows-key.png + R and a search box will appear.

  3. Type "msinfo32" and the System Information window will show up.

  4. You will be able to  find information such as the system model, BIOS version etc under the System Summary tab.

For systems running Windows 7, you can check out this article to get such information.

On my tablet 2, the touch keyboard (the big black one, not the little windowed one) disappears, and I can't get it back by clicking on the taskbar. How can I open the touch keyboard when I need it?
