I am trying to install System Update 5.0.2 on a W520 running a fresh install on Windows 8.1 Preview. Solution Center is already installed. No other software has been installed on this box, other than standard windows updates.
When I try to install SU5.0.2, I can get to the EULA screen, click on the "I accept ..." toggle, Next button enables, but does nothing when I click it.
Any suggestions on how to SU5.0.2 to complete?
Here are the last lines in the tvsuSetup.log file after I try to press next, but before I cancel the install.

Hi tchmiel, welcome to the forums,
please bear in mind that Windows 8.1 isn't yet a supported operating system, drivers and utilities will probably start becoming available later in the year when it's released. Because its not supported if installed SystemUpdate probably wouldn't find any drivers anyway; it didn't for my T430.

So first of all you solution.
open Command Controll (CMD) (i would recommend in administator mode)
navigate to the folder where you saved your "systemupdate.exe"
type systemupdate502-06-26-2013.exe /s /a /v"/qn"
(this will install System Update silent. For more inforamtion about that you should visit the microsoft support)
Now wait a bit (depends on how fast your maschine is)
Now open Metro, press this new little "down arow" and there you must find your installed systemupdate
So and now a few words more:
I had this same Problem on a Leaked Final Windows 8.1 version. This means when in October Win8.1 will offical realease, Systemupdate will not work. I think lenovo should go back to his roots and provide the best support they could instead of blocking all work to Windwos 8.1 Threads. I know many people that buy your Laptops only because of the good support.

I've just clean install windows 8.1 on my T420 and it has some problems.
First, I can't install Dolby Advance Audio V4 ( working on windows 7 64bit). When I try to install it says " PCEE need to be installed"
Second, i can't install lenovo system update. It is unanable to click next on the Lenovo System Update install on Windows 8.1
Can't anyboby help me?

I apologize I thought I replied to this thread, but apparently I did hit Post or something.
Anyway this indeed did work for me for Win8.1 Preview. I have not updated to Win8.1 RTM yet.

Thanks for posting this. It works fine on a T500 with the 8.1 Preview Release.
I tried a few times and found it's important to type in exactly what was suggested. Note that there is no space in this string: /v"/qn".
One further word: I searched this forum with the keywords Windows 8.1 Preview, and every combination of those words. I found nothing. Only when I started a new thread and typed in those words did this thread come up as a suggestion. I'm not sure why, but a sysop should look at that.
