Why is the Windows 7 Starter Edition desktop background not restored after I make my system genuine? How can I fix this?
In Windows 7 Starter Edition, there is a single default desktop background image which will be shown unless a High Contrast Color Scheme is selected.
If a computer running Windows 7 is not registered in time, the background is set to a solid black color and a message is shown stating that Windows is not Genuine. However, after Windows is registered, the desktop background is not automatically restored.
You can restore the background image by following these steps:
Click the Start button, type display in the search box, and then click Display.
In the left pane of the Display Control Panel, click Change color scheme.
Click Windows Classic, and then click Apply.
Click Windows 7 Basic, click Apply, and then click OK.
The Starter Edition desktop background will be restored.
