I downloaded a software that extracted the key and I copy/pasted it into the PC settings.
Did you try Belarc as Hoov suggested?
Have you tried entering the characters manually one-by-one rather than copy/paste? I've found that doing it that way has worked best for me.
I am not employed by Lenovo or Microsoft. I am a volunteer.

Ok, I downloaded Belarc but there is a new problem. When I go to PC Settings and then go down to Activate Windows, it doesn't even let me go in. It just keeps backing out to the Start Screen

From what I can find out IIS can cause problems with the activation. You mentioned that you have called windows support. Did you call the phone number to activate windows online, or did you call tech support?

I called Microsoft Tech Support and they told me that I had to call Lenovo tech support. Also, the option to activate windows online in the PC settings does not work because every time I click ACTIVATE ONLINE, it says it is not available.

Ok so thanks for the link. I Think it might help. The only problem is that now I cant go to the ACTIVATE WINDOWS section of the PC SETTINGS. So i have a side problem I have to solve. For some reason when i click the button for ACTIVATE WINDOWS it takes me back to the start menu, so if you could help me with this problem then maybe i can call.

Thanks for all your help guys. i found out that apparently my PC came with a trial version instead of a full version (like how it was supposed to). I ended up buying a copy of Windows 8.1 and now I have no Problems.
