Keyboard Issue of ThinkPad X1, 2 in 1, 3rd Generation

2021-05-08, 6:16 AM

I am using ThinkPad X1, 2 in 1, 3rd generation for about 1 year 3 months. I am facing issues with the touchpad since the beginning (3/4 months after purchase). The problem was and still is - while moving the cursor/ pointer by touchpad, it acts weird. Sometimes unnecessary programs open/select automatically. Sometimes it gets tough to move the pointer to the point or icon where I needed to move. It happens mostly while on charging but yes while not charging, it happened too.

3 months back my keyboard stopped working completely. It worked while it is in the fully flat position but eventually, it stopped working in that position too. I have replaced the keyboard by claiming my warranty and last month I got the new keyboard

With my new keyboard, I can work in the original/ usual position without making it fully flat but still facing problems while moving the cursor/ pointer with the touchpad.

Please help me as it is kind of impossible to work with this issue.

P.S: External Bluetooth keyboard works fine without any trouble.

Hello FarhanS,

Welcome to Lenovo Community

May I know what troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
Have you updated the drivers and BIOS thru the support site?

Another step to try is to check the touchpad assembly.
You may check the link for guide:
