Lenovo Ideapad Miix 700: Can't turn off Caps Lock

2017-06-17, 1:32 AM

Hi Lenovo Forums,

I have been having a problem. Whenever I press the Caps Lock key on my keyboard, it cannot be turned off. I can press the key, but the caps lock indicator remains lit.

More strangely, whenever Caps Lock is on, several other of my keys do not work! When caps lock is off rest of the keyboard works perfectly fine, but when caps lock is on the keys 3, E, D, and C do not work. If you notice, these keys are all in a vertical line on the keyboard. Detaching and reattaching my keyboard doesn't turn off caps lock, so far the only solution is to restart the computer or turn off caps lock via the On-screen Keyboard. It is quite annoying.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled my drivers with no success. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.

Hello Dendurang

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.

Try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.

(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)
1. Turn the unit off
2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter
3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds
4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter
5. Turn the unit on as normal

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.
