Miix 320 Android support

2019-02-22, 11:59 AM

Hi there

We currently have a few Miix 320 units and are trying to get them to run Android x86. For the most part it's working fairly well, except for the built in camera. After checking in the device manager on one of the devices still running Windows I found that these devices use an Intel AVStream Camera. After many hours of Googling and playing with the device I am still unable to get the camera to work on Android. Is there anyway that this can be done that I may have missed?

Thanks

Having spent many more hours on this issue and speaking to both Lenovo and Intel support, we were told that there are no drivers for anything but Windows. We eventually had to abandon the idea of using these devices with Android.

Can you please tell me what version of android you installed ? This device comes with Microsoft windows 10 but it almost occupies 25 GB for system files and i am free with only 6 to 7 GB. I tried installing phoenix OS but when i try to boot it, it shows black screen with blinking coursor and nothing happens from there on, have to force restart the system.

We used Android x86 using Android 8.0. Unfortunately with these particular devices, you will have to use a USB drive to install Android to the device storage.

I don't mind the camera. The rest is working ok? I tried some android emulators like Nox but is not snappy enough on this tablet. So you went back to windows 10?

Yeah, besides the camera and the gyro sensor everything else seemed to work just fine. We've gone back to Windows 10 on those devices and will be using actual Android tablets where Android is needed.

Even i was able to boot PhoenixOS and Android-x86 successfully on MIIX320.
Android-x86: Bluetooth, camera, gyro, audio jack does not work
Phoenix Os: Camera, gyro, audio jack does not work

You said you were able to get all hardware working beside gyro and camera, can you tell me how did you manage with bluetooth and audio ?
