Miix 320 not reading SanDisk and Sony cards

2019-05-16, 3:47 AM

Hi I have 4 microSD to test

2 x 64 GB sandisk

1 x 16 GB Sony

1 x 32 GB Kingston

Only the Kingston card is being read properly on the tablet. All cards are detected by my other gadgets as well as my other tablet PC (Samsung Ativ)

So does Lenovo not play well with SanDisk and Sony Card? I could hear the sound when inserted but does not show up in the system.

Tips?

Hi cmlosaria,

Welcome to the community forums.

We'd like to look into this further. Could you try formatting the Sony and Sandisk SD card on a PC then put a FAT/exFAT format? Let us know if this works.

Thanks!

When you reformat the SD cards on a PC/laptop, did you test if both SD cards are being recognized on that PC/laptop or did you immediately inserted the SD card on the Tablet?

Regards,

Hi,

Tested working on other PC first before inserting. Also recognized by the miix 320 if connected via USB Type C - card reader.

Could you please reboot your MIIX 320 after inserting the SD card? Sometimes it may take several reboots before it recognized.

Keep us posted.

Hello cmlosaria, Thanks for reaching out. We recommend updating the BIOS to the latest version (5HCN39WW(V8.4) which can be downloaded here: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/tablets/miix-series/miix-320-10icr/downloads?CID=ww:lenovosocial:20x9m6. You can also try the solution provided in this article by your fellow Miix 320 users: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Windows-based-Tablets/SD-Card-not-showing-up-miix-320/td-p/3736381?CID=ww:lenovosocial:20x9m6. "Which was to hold down the up or down volume button while holding down the power button when powering up" Let us know if this works. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply but did not solve the problem.

My BIOS has been updated a few weeks ago. The button combination does not work.

Vol Up + Power = Novo Menu (can access BIOS etc.)

Vol Down + Power = Black screen only (not boot up, waited. No Lenovo logo. need to force shutdown by holding power button)

Any other solution?

32GB Kingston works

16GB Sony and two 64GB Sandisk does not work.
