Still nothing. Still broken. Still no response from Lenovo.

My greatest achievement of the week is that every time Lenovo posts an ad in my Facebook feed I reply with a warning and pointing people to this thread. So far I've managed to scare off a few potential customers.

Well done! Just had a popup "We value your opinion!

After your visit, would you be willing to provide some quick feedback? It will only take a minute."

Re: Miix 700 - issues after updating folio keyboard firmware

Hi guys, I had the same problem after updating to the latest folio's firmware and the touchpad was driving me crazy. I found some sort of workaround by installing the elder version of folio's firmware (V0009), but the real problem is that I wasn't able to find it on Lenovo's website, so I searched the firmware's name on Google (chelsea_folio_fw_v0009.exe) and I found it on an external website. Before installing it I removed keyboard and touchpad drivers, otherwise it wouldn't work.

I know it's not a perfect solution because even this old version of the firmware has some problems, but at least it works and I can use my touchpad. I hope it helps you, cheers :)

You were able to flash with old firmware? I've been wanting to do that but didn't seem to be able to as I had the new firmware installed n nothing happens when I run the file b4.  Mayb I didn't uninstalled the new one properly?

Just curious. If you removed touchpad and keyboard driver.. How did you run the file as the folio keyboard pribsbly will be unresponsive?

Possible, but unlikely.  In my experience, all keyboards and mice run using windows default HID drivers even if they use specialized drivers for additional features.

You may not get some of the utility... i.e. some the special characters/options might not work, but you should have sufficient functionality to install and configure without problems.

Even it they don't work, you can plug in _any_ usb and mouse and they will function without any special drivers.  In the unlikely event that they have problems, you can always use the touchscreen and OSK for the installs.

Hope that this information is helpful and reassuring,

Beverly Howard

Googled the file and found it on Lenovo's site

https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht117730

Or more directly: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/Tablets/Miix-Series/miix-700-12isk/downloads/DS112010

Oops. as pointed out, the link for the download redirects to the latest version of the firmware.

so what problems does this firmware have, though?

Probably the missed keystrokes, which are a lot more bearable than they crazy touchpad though.

I'll give it a try later anyway.

Thanks for the heads up!.

>> Googled the file and found it on Lenovo's site <<

The problem is that neither of those download sites contain the driver (chelsea_folio_fw_v0009.exe) referenced by Shur123 and, in his message he refers to it being found on "an external site" which I have been unable to locate.

Those links eventually resolve to the file miix700-12isk_folio_fw_v001.exe and that file does not contain chelsea_folio_fw_v0009.exe

I googled the driver exe name and found nothing other than what was on lenovo's site (including this discussion) and some references on third party different language sites which I would be reluctant to load.
