Re: Miix 700 - issues after updating folio keyboard firmware

2017-06-08, 2:38 AM

Just installed the folio utility.

And... so far, I have no clue what it does. The problems are still there. I can see the software installed on the 'remove programs' list (Shows up as lenovo onscreen utility, or something along those lines), but there's no application whatsoever to execute, at least none with user interface.

Re: Miix 700 - issues after updating folio keyboard firmware

I looked in one of the folders it created on install, and one of them was a program called "Adaptive Keyboard Settings," which seems to be a program for the Thinkpad X1 Carbon, which has a MacBook Pro-type function row. It also created two running processes for what seemed to for function key shortcuts (again, as the X1 has a screen for the function row), and so doesn't seem to have any functionality for the Miix 700.

Re: Miix 700 - issues after updating folio keyboard firmware

Ok guys.. I am not sure if Lenovo will have any fix anytime soon that actually works and what that new file does...but I just received a replacement keyboard... (assuming it's on the old firmware), and it actually seems to be working like it used to.  No more of that  unresponsive touchpad problem that came with the new firmware...I never experienced any major issues  with the prevoius version..but there maybe the same issues that ppl had experienced with the old version...maybe the palm detection could be better?

Anyway...so it seems for me...having them replacing the keyboard seem to improve things and get rid of the problem with the unresponsive pad that was not usable.  Maybe if you can revert the to old version from the post recently, it may fix the problem the same way?  I dont' know what version this firmware is that came with this.

will keep using it and see if noticed any major issues..but for those with warranty still.  I suggest you request a replacement folio keyboard ..doesn't hurt to try!

Re: Miix 700 - issues after updating folio keyboard firmware

One question... is the 00009 version the firmware before the messed up version 1.0?   It looks like the keyboard I have has the very original firmware.. if I run the Chelsea_foli file...the update button lights up.  I am wondering if I should update it to 0009 version....I think that version worked fine with mine.. but I can't remember...

Any ideas what the 0009 version supposed to fixed and any major issues with that update before?

Just another follow up.  I did what one of the prevoius posts suggested to downgrade the keyboard and it worked fine for me.  The lag and unresponsive issue is gone with the downgrade back to v0009

I wonder if I should update the new keyboard they sent me to this 0009 version..

If i remember correctly, and from what I can read in the old thread, with the 0009 firmware the keyboard was missing keypresses. Do the people who rolled back to this version experience such behavior while typing?

That's right! Was so long ago I'd forgotten - that was the reason for the update in the first place... and still it rumbles on... pathetic really

So far it seems ok for me.. I did Mayb notice key missing with the keyboard they mail me but I haven't apply the 0009 version firmware to it n I don't know what version it is. And it seem it was when I was using on a soft surface.

The keyboard I downgraded with the method described recently works fine it seems.  Definitely better than the freeze from version 0010

Despite this, everyone shld demand Lenovo for a new keyboard just make a point :)
