Will wait for two more months, then will be returning my tablet and 'never Lenovo again'.

 

This level of ignorance to address a bug in firmware/driver for essential piece of HW is without comparison

for such a 'renowned' company.

I've not asked for a refund. yet. I'll have to wait till it breaks again. I do think we should try to organise more. I was thinking of "friending" everyone replying to the various threads I have seen on this and other issues with this device...

That's actually a great idea. 

 

I just got off the phone with Lenovo support (about 40 minutes) and they were extremely difficult to deal with.

 

I basicallly had to argue with them to attempt to get escalated to a supervisor, who was "unavailable", and are apparently calling me back (though I don't hold out much hope).

 

They were also apparently unable to watch the video's I sent them that proved the issue exists (and is software/firmware related) as youtube is blocked for everyone.

 

I'll see how I go chasing up, but unifying all of us having this problem to a single concerted effort is probably a good idea, with the ideal outcome being one of the following 3 (I'm not sure of my preferred order):

  • A driver update is released that solves the problem
  • Full refund
  • Replacement with a Miix 720 (obvious risks abound)

I'll let you all know how my support efforts go.

Further update, it appears this device was officially sold in Australia: http://www.harveynorman.com.au/computers-tablets/computers/laptops/lenovo-miix-700-2-in-1-laptop.html

 

The reason this matters is that Australia has consumer protection (via the ACCC/Ombudsman) that essentially means the government will sue Lenovo if they don't solve/address the issue, without having to start a class action.

 

The cost to Lenovo for a single report can easily run into the tens of thousands of dollars.

 

Are there any other Australian's here experiencing the same problem (or any other countries with similar powers)?

Also, I was presented with a "Survey" in this forum.

 

I took that opportunity to state very clearly my displeasure that Lenovo not only does not participate in the forum, they do no take any action to address problems posted and discussed in the forum, including problems with rare postings by lenovo that contain misinformation.

 

I urge any others who may be offered a survey to take it and make their feelings known.

It's good we are being proactive in addressing this.   It's not much point just complaining to each other on the forum as the forum is just a community of users and Lenovo is not really goin to read through every forum to see what issues need to b solved.   

 

I think everyone who has same problem need to keep bugging them about this.  Send back to repair,  escalate,  write on anything that has to do with this computer to bring this issue to light.

I'm from Chile and i'm also experiencing the issue, although I bought the device in Canada.
