Would using the single language option also cause an issue?

What do you mean by don't install from USB?

I am not sure I understand your advise.

I have tried all normal ways. If you read my posts you will see that I tried to upgrade via normal update process... That is what got me in my situation...

I guess he actually only read my last message and wanted to suggest to you to save you from the time-consuming process of installing from an image and take the "get windows"-route instead. Since that is indeed no longer an option for you - did you try another attemot with a "windows home"-image?

I've read from another article, that if you have the serial number of Windows 8 / 8.1 / 7, you can not use it for a fresh install in Windows 10. You must upgrade from Windows 8 / 8.1 / 7. Lenovo yoga tablet using 32 bit/x86 Windows 8.1 with bing, have you tried it?
Did you try this?

Re: Problem after upgrading to Windows 10

Hi,

Sorry for the delay. I had some work to do.

In the meanwhile I did:

Download a 8.1 with Bing image from the Internet (by Google search).

Installed 8.1 with Bing via USB drive - no serial key required as the installer recognised my BIOS embeded key as good. Here I was also able to delete the recovery partition and some other small one.

Installed all drivers for Windows 8.1 from the Lenovo support page.

Installed all available Windows updates.

Installed Windows 10 through the normal upgrade process and this time it worked.

Installed all Windows 10 drivers from the Lenovo support page.

At this time I can see two problems:

1. (SOLVED) The tablet was slow and all nice Windows 10 effects were like a 120 fps movie. I had to disable manualy the Lenovo Smart Switch service which seemed to be killing the processor and now the tablet is working good. Looks like the service is there because some moron didn't realize that if you extend the stand and try to take a picture, the stand will be in the field of view. All the service does is let you know that you have the stand opened if you try to take a picture.

2. (UNSOLVED) This is something I realized also the first time I installed Windows 10. From time to time, my 16GB SD card would get into a state where it would become unreadable. A reboot was helping. At first I thought that the memory went bad so I bought a 64GB one. This one is not even recognised and in the device manager under "Storage controllers" I can see one of the devices has troubles "SD Storage Class Controller" - The device cannot start. (Code 10). The I/O device reported an I/O error. Now my other SD won't work either and a reboot will not solve the issue. Of course, both SDs work perfectly on my laptop with Windows 10. I will open a new thread in the forum for this.

Regards,

Zoli

Regarding the SD issue, was the card in when you updated to W10?

Re: Problem after upgrading to Windows 10

Hi,

No. It wasn't. Looking a little bit at the device manager for me it looks again like a Lenovo mistake or just a bad hardware design for the tablet as the way the SD card is recognized by the tablet is way different than how the laptop is seeing it.

Also, funny fact, Windows 10 is showing the SDHC driver date as 06/21/2006. I am not even sure SDHC was a standard at the time.

Regards,

Zoli

PS: I bet the fault is the hardware that Lenovo chose for the card reader part of the tablet.

Here is what my Device manager looks like. Also the driver has the same date as yours so i dont think that is the issue.  I am running a 128GB card without problem btw...

Hi,

Here is how mine looks. I am thinking maybe it's a hardware issue. I think I'll send it back to Lenovo.

Thanks!

Zoli
