Re: Faint Ghosting on X IPS screen

As for mine, ezserve received it on 06/09/2011  -- it's now 06/16/2011 and still shows repair status: "Hold for Parts - Service call is on hold until parts arrive."

Yep, that's the same status that I have. Who knows, maybe they'll get in LCDs that actually aren't defective eventually?

@All,

Anyone who has this issue but have not send their machine in for service? Can you drop me a PM with your email address?

Thank you
James

Is this a problem that affects all X220 units, or only some?

I seem to have the problem, so I sent it in to ezserve -- but apparently they have no replacement parts, so now it's just sitting there (for over a week).

Now I'm curious if I got a lemon, or if I'm just more "sensitive to lemon" so to speak...

I'm also getting this issue. It's not as extreme as some people who posted screenshots earlier, but definitely visible. I'm really enjoying the crisp colors and wide viewing angles, but I wonder if it would be worthwhile to ask Lenovo to switch it to the older style LCD screen. I'd be giving up bright colors and wide viewing angles in exchange for no ghosting and greater power efficiency. How do the responce times compare between IPS and TN technologies?
