Can't enable HDR on Y25-25 monitor

Option is grayed out, what do? Connected through DP to a RX 580.

It wasn't that. It wasn't possible to turn on HDR as there was no HDR monitor detected as it wasn't possible to turn HDR on the monitor side.

 

Resetting to factory settings fixed it, not sure what other setting was blocking it.

Hi TurbinoZ100000,

 

it's greyed out because the monitor automatically detects if your machine outputs HDR signal. As long as it does, the monitor is also going to automatically use it. If you want to play back HDR video, you have to enable it under the Windows HD Color Settings:

 

 

I'm not sure whether the AMD software has this option somewhere or if its automatically enabled, but you definitely need to allow HDR in the specific game that you're playing to get HDR displayed on your monitor (as long as the game supports it).

Could it be the case, that the monitor was first connected to a machine that wasn't HDR capable? Maybe the information then got somehow stuck in the backend settings of the monitor?

 

Whatever it was, its important that now it is working as expected. I hope that you can now enjoy your new monitor!
