M600 Not Connecting After FW Update

2020-12-21, 17:40 PM

A few days ago, I was prompted to update Lenovo Accessory Central to the newest version, v2.0.4.12011, which I did. Then I saw that there was a new firmware update for the M600 mouse. Prior to this, everything was working fine. Once I updated, the connection to the wireless 2.4g dongle stopped working. I tried pairing and repairing for an entire hour and nothing is working. I tried everything. Only wired and bluetooth works.

I'm not sure what this firmware update did, but it seems that everybody who updated can no longer connect to the wireless 2.4g mode: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Y-Gaming-Accessories-Curved-Gaming-Monitors/Legion-M600-Wireless-Mouse-Not-Working-Anymore/m-p/5040534

Please fix this ASAP!!! Is there a way for me to downgrade and roll back to the previous firmware? Thanks.

The firmware for the M600 mouse can be changed either in Device Manager (it may be easier to find if you unplug then replug the mouse to see which device comes back), which should have a roll-back option.

You can also search online for a previous M600 mouse driver that you can install directly (be careful about where you find these drivers).

The only things that pop-up under device manager when the mouse or dongle is plugged in is "HID-compliant mouse" and it's a default microsoft driver, and there's no roll-back driver option for these. You think I could hit "uninstall device" for both, and then unplug and replug them in? Not sure if that will actually roll-back the driver, if it works I'm not even going to try and open LAC.

Yeah that didn't work for me, I can't find any M600 firmware online either. I've paired and repaired so many times. I wish I didn't update to the latest firmware!!!! Everyone is having this issue with that update.

This link should have the driver needed:

Lenovo M600 USB Mouse for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit), Windows 8.1 (32-bit, 64-bit), Windows 10 (64-bit) - Lenovo Support US

Try installing this and see what happens.

Also, try going to Control Panel -> Uninstall a Program -> View installed updates (on the left side) and see if you can find the update that caused the issue. You can uninstall the update if present.

Let me know.

Btw, placing @LelouchV  in your reply will notify me that you've replied.

Gotcha @LelouchV.

So under installed updates is just windows security updates, and nothing other than Lenovo Accessory Central under programs.

I believe the driver you linked me is a completely different mouse since the driver is from 2016. I looked it up and there was another mouse by Lenovo named the M600 which released 5 years ago: https://www.game-debate.com/mouse/index.php?mo_id=1414. So I don't want to risk installing a driver for a different product.

It seems that Lenovo has never publicly released firmware for this M600, and only ever updated via Lenovo Accessory Central. Not sure what to do now.

Sorry about that!

Legion Accessory Central for Windows 7, 10 (64-bit) - Lenovo Support US

I believe that link should have the correct driver.

Let me know if it works.

@LelouchV

That link is just the current version of LAC, not an actual firmware or driver. So I'm going to uninstall the mouse from device manager, uninstall LAC, then install the previous version of LAC I downloaded when I first purchased the mouse, as it was working fine prior to the newest version.

I see. I was looking for the older version of LAC online, but I couldn't find it anywhere. If you have that, then definitely worth a shot.

When uninstalling from device manager, make sure it is the actual mouse and not the driver for something else that the mouse happens to connect to.

You can try "updating" the driver and simply selecting any other driver from the list it'll show you. Messing around with that may allow you to find the driver that'll make the mouse work again.

Let me know.
