Re:Y27q-20 firmware

2021-02-20, 4:32 AM

After applying this firmware, the "Low Blue Light" feature no longer works correctly.

When I toggle the feature on, it will work initially but disable a bunch of other menu settings. If the monitor loses signal due the connected device going into sleep mode, then when it wakes up the monitor will no longer apply "Low Blue Light" mode despite indicating it's doing so in the menu. If I toggle it back off and on again, then it begins working again.

Having to manually fix this time and again is a complete deal-breaker for me. Is it possible to downgrade the firmware to a prior version?

@MOCAMBO

I have the same GPU and Nvidia drivers as you. I just applied this fix and am concerned that this won't fix my issues. Did you verify that your firmware did in fact update to 1.5 as seen here https://support.lenovo.com/de/en/solutions/ht511642?

I'm having this issue as well, updated the firmware to the LG 1.5, still getting black screens on my 3070 on nvidia driver 461.72. I will say that the firmware update makes the black screen issue happen less frequently, but it does still occur for me.

I am also having issues where the "Blue Light Filter" option will get reset after installing the patch. Even though in menu it shows that it is selected, if you disable it then turn on the feature then you can clearly see that the blue light filter was disabled. Please fix!

Still having issues under Fedora 33.  I'm using a 1070 with official Nvidia linux driver.

That's just great! It's quite irritating.  I was hoping that it would stop if I ever get my hands on a new graphics card.  What to do??

I am running a GTX 1060 with the latest 1.5 firmware and still experiencing black screens with both the previous 461.92 nvidia drivers and the latest ones as well. This is absolutely infuriating.

I recently received my Y27q and am having intermittent black screens that require me to unplug and replug in my HDMI cable. I am not gaming, just typical office work and have it plugged into my Lenovo Y50 laptop (Intel HD4600 graphics & Nvidia 860m). The monitor shipped with the 1.5 firmware, but I still have the black screen and monitor going to sleep issue. Please advise.

Yeah it's ridiculous and there appears to be no further acknowledgement.   It would be an awesome monitor otherwise.  I had to go back to HDMI and I feel it took a slight quality hit.
