Hi wiredboy,

unfortunately, the firmware for the Y44w isn't publicly available. If I'm not mistaken, to successfully flash the firmware of the monitor a separate module/chip is required. Are you sure your monitor is now running the P44 firmware? If it is the case, I would recommend getting in touch with our service in order to get the firmware reverted to the original version.

Best regards,

Yes, indeed I've used the official tool from Leono for P44W, the monitor even has the thinkvision logo on startup and in OSD menu. Curiously all features are working (except gaming functions obviously). How do I contact support?

Re:Y44W Firmware

I need to be able to get firmware for my Y44W-10 monitor. Currently my monitor has the P44W firmware on it and I would assume is the reason why it's causing so many issues such as disconnecting displays and computers not connecting properly through USB-C. Why isn't the download available directly through the Lenovo website?

Y44W Firmware

Where you ever able to get the firmware. I am on the same boat and it's just frustrating to not be able to get the support or find the files anywhere.

Y44W Firmware

You can flash back to y44 w by using the usbc firmware. Just read the instructions properly, and you have the legion firmware back instead of the the p44

Legion Y44W-10 Firmware

2020-07-16, 17:34 PM

So we've already established that firmware can be updated (although incorrectly to the Thinkvision P44 V1.3), however no new firmware is available for the Y44?

Where/how does one go about updating the aged firmware on the monitor (current V1.0)?

Trying to connect my Lenovo notebook via USBC (and the KVM switch) is an absolute nightmare, and methods of getting the laptop to work via USBC (and the constant errors in Windows about "the display connection might be limited" on either my desktop and laptop) indicates that a much needed firmware update is required.

I read somewhere that someone said that you have to take your screen to an authorised shop in order to update the firmware (this can't be as mentioned above it is possible to update with P44), the question is thus 1) is there an updated firmware for this screen available anywhere, and 2) why have we not seen any movement on this for a screen that is over a year old already?

As stated before in the thread, update is possible at home with PC and Lenovo tool, (Confirmed as some of us updated to p44w firmware) Can we get the binary at least for V1.0 to revert monitor to stock firmware?

Regards

Re:Y44W Firmware

I'm still pissed my Legion Y44W-10 doesn't have the one Button KVM as advertised! The German Levon Forum admin even admits that that was false adverti**bleep**t or at least a false copy/paste by the sales team. It didn't try the Thinkvision FW on my Legion, i just updated my Y44w-10 from Version 1.2 (delivered November 2020!?) to the buttom mentioned 1.6, in hope to get the "one-button KVM" feature, but no still missing. OMG, i use a Thinkpad X1 Yoga for work during the Day and my private desktop for everything else, the switching of the USB-input every time, often not possible because no OSD, because no Display detection, drives me crazy!!!

Know there seams to be the need for Firmware and the admin in this forum tells it's no public, even if the are!?

Legion Y44w-10 - Version 1.6 (newest as far as i found?) https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht511200-firmware-update-for-lenovo-y44w-windows

ThinkVision P44w-10 - Version 1.3 (also newest!?) https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/de/products/monitors-and-projectors/lcd-monitors/thinkvision-p44w-10/solutions/ht508919-firmware-update-for-thinkvision-p44w-10-windows

Can somebody confirm, that I'm able to flash from Legion Y44w 1.6 FW to the Thinkvison P44w 1.3 FW, to test if this fixes my problem with not having the KVM feature? I don't care if i loose the Gaming features they are useless after all and i don't need PiP 2:1 on my daily use! I need that F!"§* "one Button KVM" feature, that's the reason i bought the Display for...

Did anybody doing that experience any issues? I had problems before updating the USB-Firmware with my Thinkpad X1, but the seem to be fixed after that, i read something about display loosing signal, can anybody confirm that? I hat similar problems but hat was related to the USB-c cable i used not the display!?
