YG27 RE - Weird issue.

2017-09-25, 21:51 PM

I recently purchased the YG27 RE monitor, great monitor so far and solid quality but a slight issue I can't figure out what the cause is.

Basically it happens at random where the colors start displaying wrong like Black gets a Blue tint, and White gets a Yellow tint, I've tried with different DP cables and it's happened but it happens at random, and the fix is for me to unplug the monitor and replug it.

There's no signs of overheat from the monitor and this issue didn't happen with my old monitor so I can't figure out what causes it with the YG27.

I have my PC connected via DP and my PS4 connected via HDMI. I notice it's usually when I'm on my PC when it happens and not on my PS4, is there something going on with the DP that causes it?

I'll try to take a photo when it happens again and update my thread but would like to know if anyone has experienced the same.

I have a GTX 1080 and I don't think it's the issue at all, I'm just baffled that the easiest fix for it is simply hard powering off and on the monitor. Like some sort of surge in the connection just throws off the whole thing. Otherwise everything runs smooth, no ghosting or anything, backlight bleed is minimal, no clouding.

Hello SVCUE,

are you running on your PC the Lenovo Artery App which is smth similar to Lenovo Nerve Sense / Center, but just for the monitor? I know I did read that when the App isn't installed, the monitor reverts the color settings if you set them up on the monitor directly.

Best regards,

I have the same issue. Mainly get yellow/greenish colors on the screen.

Unrelated to graphics card, if I let my PC running and disconnect and reconnect the screen power cable it is fine again.

If I just turn off the screen for a minute and turn it on again it doesn't help, but for a few hours it does.

Problem mostly turns up after 1-2 hours of gaming.

I have same problem with my Lenovo y27g .

I try 2 brand new DP cable and other monitor in DP port. Only y27g has this issue.

Any solution or take back the product to shop?

I have the exact same issue, had it ever since I bought the screen. Also got 1080... Do you by any chance also have a Lenovo Ideacentre Y720/710???

- Some games seem to trigger this effect more than others. I never had the issue with e.g. OW, LoL but games like Fallout 4, Dying Light, Black Ops 4, they trigger it very fast. it's getting kinda annoying, I have been looking into everything in order to find the problem, BIOS update, total GPU driver reinstall, different options tweaking.... Nothing helps.. :(

Please let me know if anyone has a solution that does not involve me unplugging the monitor..

Having the exact same issue, but it doesn't accure all the time, only on specific games or leaving my computer unoccupied for xxx hours

already tried installing the drivers, installing the Artery software, other cable, other GPU but the problem keeps reaccuring.

i've also noticed its only happening on 144hz and its in the monitor itself, cause when it happens and i disconnect the DP cable from the PC the screen displays the "cable not detected" message and also this is fully blue instead of black.

would really like to know if there is a way to solve it or i have to get the monitor replaced

Y27G Blue / Yellow artifacts

2018-12-13, 23:47 PM

hey guys got a weird issue here,

and i wonder if i should replace the monitor or if there is a fix for it

bought new monitor few weeks back (Lenovo y27g, 144hz)

but got the problem that in specific games its started to give strange artifacts. (see picture)

turning it off and on seems to fix the issue for xxx minutes and then its back again

now the weird thing is when i set the monitor to 120hz instead of 144hz it has no issues anymore

its also not gpu related cause switching the cable i noticed that the "no signal" message was also artifact blue

ofc i've done the default troubleshooting:

reinstalled GPU drivers, new cable, new adapter, turned off overdrive in the monitor, reinstalled monitor software, reinstalled monitor drivers, different GPU input, reset monitor settings, different computer

Hello All, same issue here.. 144hz i get this blue issue, 120hz no blue issue but has bad flicker.. highly recommend using your warranty if still active. They sell a new model now and i have to wonder if this issue along with the **bleep**ty WORTHLESS overdrive function was the reason. Called Lenovo and they had me install Artery (clearly to get off the call) which is already proven to not be a fix for this issue, which i pointed out. When they send me a new one and the issues still happens (and it will if they send the same model) i expect them to be upgrade me to the latest model at no cost. We'll see how this goes...
