Yoga book liability?

2019-02-16, 23:22 PM

Lenovo didn't deploy update since Oct 03 2017 for the Lenovo YB1-X90F, with security android update of august 2017
Sounds like a serious liability ...
Did I mist some update or is it an discontinued product with liability?

Hi Commercial! Welcome to our forums community. There is an available update on this model on the website. Try this: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/tablets/yoga-series/yoga-book/downloads/ds118515. Update us how it goes. Just to make sure, backup your files before proceeding.

Sorry for the confusion. Kindly disregard the last message. Security updates are sent via OTA and it will be sent to devices that needs to. If you didn't receive one, it is safe to say that the device doesn't need to. You can check the updates via settings. You may also want to check this matrix: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht501098

Without security update, Lenovo compromises our security, it's a major issue ...

What we suggest is for you to provide a feedback on our website: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/. There is a feedback button at the bottom right side.

Hello, I wonder what was the answer from the support website. Could you please share it here? Just for a benchmark, other android devices have a security update every few months. My YB got only one(!) in 24 months. This worries me a lot, I have to assume that email and banking through my device are not safe.

Lenovo just don't want us to use old products as our yoga book my previous yoga flex 14 and others they want money from us to buy new ones that is the reason why they don't do anything to update the system to the recent one and that is why we arr stack with old android the reply to this post from support team are just a joke and going round instead to the point ..... Why you doing it LENOVO?
