I seem to observe that the fingerprint reader sometimes fails after the c930 wakes from sleep or lock mode. Although it works occasionally. Since it uses the red light to illuminate the finger, I wonder also if the ambient light can affect. Sometimes it works very well, but after moving to another location, typical darker, it fails. any similar observation?

I have to agree, I have 4 PCs with finger print readers from different vendors and this is the only one that seems to never work corrctly if at all.

I agree that it rarely works but my useage thinking about it is from sleep, when I,ve closed the lid to walk between meetings.
if I just lock the screen , it does work 2nd or third time, if I stand on one leg facing west, or lick my finger first like someone suggested.
in summary a very poor implementation, if my phone behaved this badly it would have been returned, or implanted in the wall.
