Re: Wishlist for a future update

I ve just received my Lenovo and I am about to return it because we can't annotate PDF on e-ink screen and there is no way to easily organize the notes. So my whish list is simple:

1) Possibility to annotate and highlit PDF in e-ink mode

2) Better interaction with Windows to save the e-ink notes

Didn't they add syncing between OneNote?  Or is that just a one way sync?  I don't have one yet.  Waiting for the 8GB vesion.

Yes.  I sketched out some plans for some construction materials and it saved automatically to OneNote. I think it lands in "Unfiled Notes" and shows up as "Yoga Book C930" and the date and time of the save. I haven't tried any text recognition as it's faster for me to just speak when I'm putting something in OneNote.

I agree: add PDF annotation with the pen on the e-ink screen.

Add a Semi-circular keyboard

2019-06-16, 3:24 AM

To take advantage of the fact that the keyboard is virtual, many flexible layouts can be developed. I would suggest a semi-circular one where the same usual rows are arranged slightly curved such as q < w < e < r=t ("<" here indicate lower. And the Fn<Ctrl.

As a virtual keyboard is sensitive to our other fingers touching them, minimizing finger travel distance will go in a long way to minimize that and keep the fingers less tired without those unnecessary stretching. The non-letter keys like CAP, SHIFT, ENTER keys can be outside the curve ie. like above the curve row to prevent accident presses when keying.

In fact since the keyboard is virtual can even open up a tool for user community to plan their own keys position layout.

E ink web browser

2019-06-21, 5:37 AM

I think having an  e ink panel web browser will go a long way to many lack-of-app issues such as onenote on e ink.

It will also allow browsing effortlessly under the sun, using less battery.

It need not be a heavy weight browser as no one would want to view gif's or videos on it.

Yeah my old Kindle Paper White can do it so come on Lenovo.

I did for fun print a web page article to PDF and sent it to my Kindle.  Wouldn't be a bad idea to read long articles on the Yoga Book if and when I get it especially for offline reading.

e-ink as Windows 2nd screen

2019-07-06, 5:40 AM

An extra button/mode on the e-ink screen added for Windows 2nd screen so that any apps or browser showing reading materials can just be shown on the e-ink screen for easy eyes reading. In fact, one button for Extending Windows screen and another one for just e-ink screen immediately switching off the LCD screen.

I understand the problem for slower screen refresh rate on the e-ink screen but non of us will run screen intensive app for that purpose. But this is badly needed for doc in Office apps such as Word, Excel or online articles reading. Reading only on the e-ink screen will allow the C930 to run cooler, last longer.

I'd want a slightly bigger model, so we can always have a full-sized touchpad and a bigger battery. Aside from this, for me personally the Yoga Book C930 is perfect.

Perhaps we will get to see a Snapdragon powered one running Windows 10 one day.
