Yoga Book C930 won't turn on

2020-03-03, 19:33 PM

My Yoga Book C930 won't turn on or accept USB-C power. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks in advance!

Does the power indicator on either side light up when you connect the charger?

Does ANYthing happen when you press the power button?

I'm having this problem as well following a BIOS update. Everything seemed to go fine, then ... poof. No charging light, nothing at all happens when I attempt to power on, plugged in or otherwise. I've got a nice-looking brick here. Is anyone else having this issue?

I've been reluctant to move to BIOS v1.23, so far.  Same with Windows 10 2004. Happy where it is and it works.

Have you tried a full-minute continuous press of the power button?

@Doctordon

Yep, I've tried the full-minute (and more) press, also holding down volume up. Still nothing, it seems dead as a doornail. The e-ink keyboard is stuck on the keyboard, no power light ever shows, and it doesn't seem to have any signs of life.

This might sound as a stupid question, but did you try with another charger or usb cable ? with both USB ports ?

On my side, I upgraded to the new BIOS but remained with Windows 1909. For the moment the book is working fine... apart from the little issues discussed here on the e ink firmware...

Definitely not a stupid question, and it's indeed something I tried - still no luck. I'd welcome any ideas, though I'm feeling like I have to bite the bullet and send it in.

If it's totally unresponsive, I can't think of much else to do. If it's out of warranty, you could try removing and/or replacing the battery, but if it worked until the BIOS update, then quit, something likely went sideways during said update.

Sorry I can't think of anything else.

I am having the same issue! My Yoga 930 (just over 1 year) turned off and won’t power back on. I have Windows 10 and Norton Security. i haven’t had any issues before this and suddenly, it won’t respond at all. The white light on the right is solid so it looks like it’s getting power. A couple times I was able to get to the Lenovo screen and once the password page but haven't been able to get beyond that before it turns off. Now it’s consistently not responding at all.
