Yoga c930 not charging

Hello, my yoga c930 has an issue where the battery will not charge. When it is plugged in the battery says it is at 0% and the charging light is blinking red. I checked lenovo vantage and it says that the battery is in poor condition. I can still use the laptop when it is plugged in, the battery just won't hold any charge. I'm just pretty bummed out because this computer is only 8 months old and already has this battery issue. Is there anything I can or do I have to send it out to get the battery replaced? I'm also worried about the repair time because I really can't go without a laptop for a long period of time. Would it be fine for me to use the laptop as is while its plugged in and wait to repair it when I have more time?

Same happen to me; I guessing over the weekend, just realized it yesterday as the laptop was plugged all the time. 
Even plugged, I can not use it in a reliable way because it shutdowns sudenly without any cause, before it shutdowns I can hear an spike of the fan.

 

While writing this post I learned that a cousin had exactly the same problem over the weekend.

My c930 has 10 months approx. Bellow an image taken from Lenovo Vantage

 

Something stinks here.

Welcome to the community.

 

First, let's make sure this is in the right place. You both have the Yoga BOOK C930, correct? The Yoga C930 is a different machine. 

 

In either case, the first thing to do, if you haven't, is to update the BIOS and all other drivers via Lenovo Vantage. Then make sure Windows is up to date. The YB C930 should be running 1903.

 

Next thing to try is to go into Device Manager and uninstall "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" driver. When you reboot, Windows should catch that and reinstall the driver. 

 

If none of that works, it's likely time to send it in, especially if it's still under warranty.

I bought Lenovo C390 1 years back. Now a massive problem is fa**bleep**g regarding charging. It is showing always zero although i put my charger plugged in. What is the solution to resolve the issue.

Do you mean Yoga Book C930? If not.. if it's the regular C930 (physical keyboard like any other laptop), then you need to post in the Yoga notebook section. 

 

  1. All of that said, is the computer useable when it's at 0? 
  2. What happens if you disconnect the charger? 
  3. If you hover over the battery icon, what does it say?

 

There are a number of possibilities. If you see "plugged in, charging" and it never budges off of 0%, you could try what's known as a "static discharge." With the computer on, press and hold the power button for a full minute after the computer turns off, removing the charger in the process. After a full minute, see if it'll boot without the charger attached.

Hi, 

Did you figure out a resolution to this issue? I've run into the same problem with my C930, and wondering if it's a battery issue/the motherboard or a driver.

The LED Flashlight keeps blinking amber instead of the static light when plugged in.

The laptop doesnt boot up/work without being plugged in, and the battery isnt getting charged.

For your machine, I'd start with a new the battery. If it's still under warranty, send it in.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem yet?  (c930-13iKB battery shows zero and will not charge).  I'm having he same problem with mine.  I have not heard anyone here say that replacing the battery works.  Does it?

I also experience same thing.

 - Battery always shows 0%

 - Does not start if not plugged

 - Pressing 1 minute on power while plugged did not help

 - OS Battery driver re-install did not help

 - Saw there was Battery Firmware Update, could not install I guess because it requires 30% at least (mine is 0%, I remember closing some popup claiming minimum 30%)

 

Worst is that my device already older than a year, no warranty.

What's next Lenovo?
