Yogabook C930 Display Ghosting/Burn-In Issue

2020-05-10, 4:18 AM

Just wanted to see if other Yogabook C930 owners were seeing any ghosting/burn-in issues on their displays? I didn't see a post related to this so was wondering if my unit was the only one.

I've only recently been noticing a ghosting/burn-in on my display against a dark desktop wallpaper. Noticed it shows up from a static white backdrop like this Lenovo website, youtube or google and when you leave the display on the page for a little while and close it, a faint ghost/burn of the screen shows against my dark desktop wallpaper. I checked to see if this was a software/firmware issue by taking a screenshot and/or displaying my screen to an external monitor and don't see the ghosting/burn-in in either situations. I've only had this for maybe 15 months and as this isn't an OLED display, not sure why the display is already having ghosting/burn-in issues. It has been disappearing after some time of sleep or switching activity on the display but it's starting to get annoying how noticeable it is now. I would've taken a picture example but the reflection against the glossy display is so bad that it doesn't show clearly the ghosting effect.

I was worried about getting a Lenovo brand laptop and seems the quality isn't there for long-term ownership. I'm obviously past the 1 year warranty period and don't want to deal with shipping the laptop to their service center and being w/o a computer for weeks or whoever knows how long.

Regardless, anybody else noticing this issue on their Yogabook C930's?

Yogabook C930 Display Ghosting/Burn-In Issue

I have had mine slightly longer than a year and haven't seen any burn-in yet. I'll keep an eye out and post back. Do you have the FHD or UHD panel?

Kind regards,

I believe mine is the UHD display as it goes up to 2560 x 1600 screen resolution.

I have this issue too. It worsens when you raise the brightness level. I also have the UHD model. (m3/128GB model)

Yogabook C930 Display Ghosting/Burn-In Issue

2020-12-10, 16:33 PM
I noticed it on my Yogabook C930 (i5) in the first couple weeks of owning it. It freaked me out at first, but the solution is simply to turn down the brightness. Don't you think that full brightness setting is a bit TOO bright? I turned mine down almost all the way and that does me just fine. Windows has some auto bright setting, but I think that still makes it too bright.

I think this may be a driver issue. In the overview (TAB + WIN) there seems to be no ghosting.

Can anyone confirm this?
