Halo Keyboard not responding

I just realised I put my problem into the wrong sub forum (twice... I could swear I didn't click on anything saying "Android", but maybe I'm just mentally exhausted at this point), and I can't figure out how to move it, so I'll put a second thread here.

 

I tried to fix a minor issue, but basically ended up making the halo keyboard unresponsive. I can switch between keyboard mode and graphic tablet mode, but none of the keys work. I suspect a driver issue, but I've already tried installing the newest driver and it doesn't work. The whole problem started with a windows 10 update.

Since I tried to fix that with a second update, I now can not roll back anymore.

 

I've tried quite a lot of things by now, but I can't name them all off the top of my head.

Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this, or how to fix it?

That sounds a bit like what happens when the newer versions of Wacom Feel drivers are installed. Only the older ones work properly with the Yoga Book - the newer ones are for different technology that Wacom switched to on their Smart pens. I can't recall offhand which is the latest version that's good for the Yoga Book but I have posted about it here in the past.

Looks to me like a driver issue. You can either follow the instructions discussed in several threads here to fix any Halo Keyboard driver malfunction you may have, or you can attempt to do a system reset to factory settings which will remove everything but will install all the factory drivers and the pre-installed apps that came with your device.

Just a double check - when you installed the new driver did you uninstall the old one? If not your system may still still be using it. This has been discussed here previously - it's not something that usually happens with drivers but in this case it seems it does.

Can you give me a link to one of those several threads? I've probably already tried those solutions, but maybe you know one I couldn't find. A system reset would be the very last option. And I hope the fact that I removed the software for the Goodix driver to keep it from reinstalling itself won't be a problem.

The point was to uninstall and delete the old driver so the new one is forced into use. Sounds like you've likely already been there - though you might want to check in the Device manager to be certain.

Don't they have the same name? If not, it seems the Goodix driver is so baked on, not even deleting the driver software can delete it.

The version number is 2.0.0.7, so I guess it's the correct one.

Update: I left the tablet at a computer shop, and they couldn't do anything, either. They reset it, too, but now the pad doesn't work anymore; the cursor is stuck in the upper left corner. I'm gonna try to get it back to Windows version 1703, wish me luck.

If that doesn't work,I can only hope for a replacement.
