Lenovo yoga book 2017 charging issue

2021-05-28, 9:48 AM

Hi,

My yoga book stops charging after few minutes of being plugged in. When I switch the plug off and then switch it on again, it again starts blinking n charging n then stops after few minutes. The screen shows fully charged but when I switch the plug again it say 71 or 93% charging n starts blinking n after few minutes stops.

What is wrong please help.

You can try to shut down, unplug the power supply, unplug the battery, plug in the power supply, and then turn it on.

Dear customer,

thank you for contacting Lenovo Forum.

There are few steps that might resolve your problem with the battery.

The first step that I suggest you is static discharge. Turn of the device, unplug everything from it, press the power button for 60 seconds. After the plug the AC back and turn on the device.
As well, I suggest you to BIOS restore in BOOT Menu.

You might try with the Battery Calibration as well (One Key Optimizer) and please check the Settings for the Battery and Vantage as it might be changed something.

Best Regards,

Lenovo Team

It doesn't sound to me like there's anything wrong at all. Charging is limited by the USB2 port which allows barely enough to run the device unless it's doing very little. It will hardly charge the battery as well, if at all. You would do better to regularly shut it down and charge the battery when you're not going to be using it. The device was designed to be run on the battery not on external power. You can only expect running the device with the charger plugged in to keep the battery power from draining too much.

The battery indicator is only reliable if the indicator has had a chance to calibrate itself properly - mostly people don't think about this, or consider doing it (I don't myself).
