New possible alternative stylus for Yoga Book

2019-12-17, 16:52 PM

Just seen that Lamy, the pen makers, have brought out a stylus version of their Safari model pen. Lamy list it as compatible with the Yoga Book and it comes with replacement tips and has a button. Can't tell whether it might have Any Pen function as well but it could.

I haven't actually seen it or tested it but I'm sure some people might be interested.

Cult Pens - a good UK online retailer - are selling it at £42 if you want a bit more info. Here: https://www.cultpens.com/i/q/LM69860/lamy-al-star-emr-digital-pen-black

Hi,

I bought this pen for LENOVO YOGA BOOK (Windows) and it works fine, except I can't figure out how to make work and customize button. Could anybody give me advice?

Thanks.

If I remember right there are two places that you can set this - one is part of Windows the other is in the Lenovo provided software (the Halo Keyboards settings?) But I can't recall which one actually makes the difference. Sorry - I hardly touch the Yoga Book these days (and I'm not writing this on one).

Oh, just thought, it might be in the Wacom Feel settings if you have that installed. Of course it's possible that the Lamy pen isn't compatible in this respect - the Lenovo pen didn't have a button after all, but other pens that will work on the Yoga Book but do have a button. I recall having a little difficulty getting a Samsung S pen to work as I wanted but I hardly ever used it after that.

Hello

I just bought the Lamy Al-Star Black EMR stylus pen. But it is not working on the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5. Is there any software to be installed?

thanks

This thread is in the section of the forum for the Yoga Book specifically. My posts about the Lamy EMR pen therefor relate only to the Yoga Book. I'm not aware that any of Lenovos other devices use an EMR type stylus as the Yoga Book does. I believe most of their other pen compatible devices do not.

I bought the Lamy but I don't like it too much.

On the create pad, the nib (I only found the nibs "for glossy surfaces") gives the sensation of old stylus in bundle with the first capacitive smartphone.

My sister tried it and her sensation was "ice cube on a glass". It slide too much.

Now I bought a wacom one pen. Will try it and the Lamy with other nibs.

I will give you my first impression tomorrow.

Do you try the Lamy with other nibs? I'm looking for nibs similar to the real pen, who gives the sensation of writing on real paper (making a little resistance)

Does anyone know if Lamy EMR pen works with Yoga 370?

Does Wacom Bamboo Ink pen works with Yoga 370?

The Lamy pen uses the passive EMR technology. The Yoga 370 is described as requiring an active pen, so the Lamy pen would not work with it. There have been Wacom products that use EMR tech, perhaps the pen for the Wacom One is one of them but you'd have to check that it uses EMR. The first version of the Smart pen did - but not the later ones and I don't think they sell it anymore.
