YOGA BOOK: SD card reader problem

2017-09-06, 21:07 PM

YOGA BOOK Windows 10 bought this week

I bought a new 128GB microSD card (Sandisk ultra microSDXC I). After inserting it in the reader, it does not appear anywhere. I tried with an old 64GB microSD card and it's the same. I looked into the disk manager and I do not see the SD card reader.

Where can I check that the microSD card reader works ?

Where can i find the list of compatible microSD cards ?

I think I've just solved the problem. I just had to click on the partition and mark it as active partition. At least, it worked for me. If it can help ...!!!

Hi,

Other ways to solve this issue : order multiple SDcard from different brands or technology, until it works. I found an article about SD card normalization and explanations about SD, SDHC, SDXC, U1, U3, classe 1 to 10, A1, A2, V30, UHS-I II or III etc... Soon, there will be not enough place on the card to mark all symbols !!!
I bought a generic SD Card 64Go SDXC UHS-1 U1 from french hi-tech shop (write speed rate around 10Mo/s) and it's full recognized.
It really seems to be a issue about bus speed limitation. If it's over 20-25Mb/s, it will not work. But brands don't communicate write rate or norms.
For my usage, it's enough.
I stop my investigation and thousand topic forum readings...

You could try inserting the card while the YB is booted up ( and waiting a bit) if you haven't tried that already.

This just worked for me after I removed the card from the YB to copy some data from another device and then put it back in the YB where it was not recognized. So I removed the card and put it back in again.  Perhaps this forces the system to look for it - I don't know why.

On a subsequent boot the card was recognized again.

Might be worth trying with a card that has never been on the YB before?
